President
Reverend Philomena Hare is an authorized minister of the United Church of Christ, and serves as Senior Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Wareham, United Church of Christ, and brings over 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership. With advanced degrees in social work and divinity, she offers expertise in nonprofit governance, board effectiveness, and team building to support healthy, mission-driven organizations.
She is honored to serve on the board of Cape Cod Council of Churches, drawn by its deep-rooted commitment to caring for our neighbors at the point of need—regardless of social status or background. This alignment of values and compassionate action makes the work especially meaningful.
Recognizing that all work and no play leads to burnout, Philomena finds joy and restoration in travel—and considers cooking a spiritual practice.
Sarah Kanaga
Vice President
Sarah Kanaga joined the Board in September 2018 and feels privileged to serve as one of the younger members of the Board. (We feel privileged to have her!) Sarah is a Web Developer at Paraclete Press, a Christian publishing company out of Orleans, and is a member of the Community of Jesus in Orleans. Aside from web development, she is a member of the world-renowned choir, Gloriae Dei Cantores, and an actor in Elements Theatre Company.
Bill Harwood
Treasurer
Bill Harwood was born and raised in Newton, Massachusetts. After spending all hi summers in Brewster, Bill and his wife Jane moved to Brewster permanently in 1970 after graduating from the Business School of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Bill worked for 13 years as a branch manager and loan officer for a local Cape Cod bank. In 1985 he transitioned to an 8 year career as an insurance salesman. In 1993, Bill became a residential real estate appraiser, eventually owning his own company and retiring in 2019.
Bill has been a member of Brewster Baptist Church since 1980, where he has served as Moderator, a Deacon, and a member of the Missions & Outreach ministry. He joined the board of directors of Cape Cod Council of Churches in 2020.
Other interests include coaching ice hockey at Nauset Regional High School for 19 years. Bill is a retired baseball umpire (28 years) and a retired ice hockey referee (35 years). He attempts to play golf three days a week.

Andrea has lived on Cape Cod for over two decades and has devoted her career to supporting the community. As the Food Access Coordinator for Cape Cod Cooperative Extension, Andrea focuses on improving food security and access across the region. Andrea is a mission-driven leader whose career blends public service, community development, and faith-based engagement. Her work centers on strengthening systems of care through strategic collaboration, resource coordination, and inclusive outreach. Guided by her values and a deep commitment to helping others thrive, Andrea has cultivated a wide network of partnerships across sectors, consistently bridging gaps between needs and solutions. With a professional background that spans corporate and nonprofit environments, along with extensive board and advisory service, she brings creative problem solving, organizational insight, and compassionate leadership.
Kim Crowell
Board Member
Through a variety of positions and sectors, Kim has held leadership positions, built and managed divisions of companies, and led strategic planning, innovation, and product development for thirty years. In 2022, Kim accepted the role of President at Onexxx, a regional natural gas company. Prior to that position, Kim was VP, Partnerships at StudentVox, where she oversaw analytics, beta testing, product design, and client relationships. Before StudentVox, Kim was VP, Innovation at Decision Resources Group, where she built and managed the company’s product development team – designing and launching technology-based, data-driven products and services. Preceding her role in Innovation, Kim ran DRG’s Consulting division and her own consulting business for many years, advising executives and product teams on market opportunities, market access, and strategic positioning/planning. Earlier in her career, Kim worked with Education Development Center, researching and designing software components for cutting-edge math curricula. She is extremely grateful that her professional career has provided her the freedom to incorporate community service into her daily life. Kim and her husband, Brad, are parents to three young adults who bring them great joy and inspiration. Kim earned her A.B. from Dartmouth College.
Pam Cundall
Board Member
Pam co-founded LeadShift, a leadership development company based in both Hyannis, MA and Worcester, MA with her husband, Steve Cundall in 1997. Pam is a versatile leader with experience in office support, customer service, and finance.
“My favorite part about my job is watching the development of the various roles that have emerged within the company since its inception as a two-person operation.”
Outside of work, Pam has enhanced her own leadership skills as co-chair for Women United of the Cape and Islands from 2017-2023, an organization dedicated to uplifting communities by providing opportunities for women and children and families around health, education, and sustainability. Prior to that Pam was an active member and is currently a sustaining member of the Junior League of Worcester, MA where she actively served in a leadership role from 1997-2007 as both a volunteer and ultimately President of the JLW 2006-2007. Volunteering and mentoring others in leadership roles has been a passion for many years. Giving back has been a lifetime commitment for Pam.

Pam and Steve have raised three wonderful children who have married and settled in Massachusetts and they currently enjoy spending quality time with their eight beautiful grandchildren.

Tammaine Cunnigham

Tammaine Cunnigham has been married to Conray for 11 years, and they have been blessed with two boys, ages 6 years old and 19 months old. Tammaine has a BA degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She grew up in Jamaica in a Seventh Day Adventist religion. Tammaine has served as a secretary for her church and has also served as a Co-Director for Martha's Vineyard Youth Leadership Initiative. She has been working at Independence House in Hyannis for 8 years as a Senior Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor and as an underserved community specialist. Tammaine is very hardworking, a dedicated mom and a spiritual person. She loves to pray and believe in Christ. Her MANTRA is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” and “Why worry when God is in control?” Tammaine loves to travel, cook and venture to new places.
Rev. Jonathan Drury
Board Member
Jonathan Drury views himself as a compassionate person, a good communicator, and a hard worker. He models his love for people on the love demonstrated by Jesus Christ, and has always felt called to care for folks who appear to have been disregarded or marginalized by the world. Jonathan approaches his ministry with humility, and recognizes he is called to bring people’s attention to the Gospel. He tries to do this in his life by sharing the good news of Christ’s story and by helping folks to recognize the presence of God’s Spirit all around them. He is currently serving as Senior Pastor of the First Congregational Church in Falmouth.
Rev. Jim Gregory
Board Member
James Gregory was born in Morristown, NJ in 1966 and spent his childhood in Chatham, NJ. He moved to South Yarmouth, MA with his parents in 1983, and graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 1985. He married his wife Julie in 1987. In 1990, after intensive in-house training under Christian Fellowship Ministries (CFM), he was ordained and commissioned into the ministry to plant a church in Marietta, GA. From there he also Pastored churches in Carlisle, PA, Newport RI, and Chicopee, MA where he also served as Chaplain for Soldier On, an organization that serves homeless Veterans. In 2011 Jim and Julie moved back to Cape Cod with their three children; Joshua, Rachel, and Micah, and they currently live in Marstons Mills. Jim now attends Faith Assembly of God where he serves as an elder, worship leader, and church liaison to the Faith Family Kitchen, one of the Council’s six programs.
Rev. Mary Hansen-Joyce

Mary is an ordained clergywoman in the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) who currently serves full time as a Hospice Bereavement Coordinator with the VNA (Visiting Nurses Association). Mary was previously employed full time by the Cape Cod Council of Churches prior to the pandemic as the Protestant Hospital Chaplain at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis; was employed by the Upper Cape Chaplaincy part time as one the Hospital Chaplains at Falmouth Hospital prior to taking the full time bereavement position; and during the pandemic Mary served as a Hospice Chaplain for Broadreach Hospice. Mary also served as a “settled” Pastor in RI prior to taking the position with the Council and a “transitional” Pastor in Falmouth at Christ Lutheran Church at the end of the pandemic. Mary has been a resident of Cape Cod for more than 25 years, even as she served in Rhode Island.
Mary feels blessed and honored to be serving on the Council’s Board and relishes being involved in mission and ministry with all the faithful and dedicated people involved in all aspects of the Council’s ministries. She is chair of the Council’s Advisory Committee to the Covenant to Care for Foster Families ministry, as well as a member of the Chaplaincy Advisory Committee for the chaplain position at Spaulding Rehab in Sandwich.
Matthew Keeling
Board Member
Matthew Keeling is a Certified Financial Planner™ and President of Keeling Financial Strategies of Mashpee, a financial planning and investment advisory firm. Matt has been active in various philanthropic causes both nationally and on Cape Cod. As a member and former Deacon of the First Congregational Church of Falmouth, former board member of the Cape Cod Children’s Museum and supporter of various other causes, notably Charity Water, an international effort to bring clean drinking water to communities around the world.
Matt lives in Falmouth, with his wife of 26 years, Naomi. He has two adult children, Julia and Jade, the younger of which is still pursuing her degree in Economics at Brandeis University. Matt himself was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and the American College for Financial Planning. Matt and Naomi enjoy traveling and try to spend at least a month each winter in beautiful Rincon, Puerto Rico.
Hon. James Thomas Kirkman (Ret.)

Tom Kirkman is a U.S. Air Force veteran, graduate of the University of Illinois with a B.A. and of Rutgers University, Camden, School of Law, with a J.D. He served as a trial and appellate lawyer for Legal Services in Chicago, on Cape Cod and the Islands, in private practice and as the Director of the Domestic Violence Prosecution Unit in the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office. In 2009, Governor Deval Patrick appointed Mr. Kirkman to the Massachusetts District Court where he served as a judge until his retirement in 2019.
Tom has taken graduate courses at the Harvard Extension School, Cambridge, MA, the Starr King School of Ministry, Berkeley, CA, and pastoral care courses related to domestic violence, sexual assault, child and elder Abuse at Andover Newton Theological School. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for Safe Havens Interfaith Partnership Against Domestic Violence and Elder Abuse, Boston, MA.
Tom is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society for Community Ministries and has been an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth, MA (UUFF), serving as the leader of a team of lay pastoral associates that provides companionship to UUFF members who are in need of spiritual and emotional support during hospitalizations, bereavement, and long-term illness.
Tracy Morin
Board Member
Tracy Morin, PhD, brings a background in higher education to the board of the Cape Cod Council of Churches. She has worked in public higher education for the last 20 years, and she is a fierce advocate of higher education as a human right for all who wish to pursue it. She is dedicated to fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging in learning environments, especially for marginalized populations. Her research focuses broadly on holistic student wellness and the ways colleges and universities seek to fully support the physical, mental, and spiritual wellness of students.
She is a resident of Sandwich where her wife, Rev. Tina Walker-Morin, is the Senior Minister of First Church. They have been married since 2008 and have two four-legged kids - their dogs, Charlie and Soji. You can find Tracy and Tina on one of the hiking trails nearby or doing some other active outdoor activity. And, if you need to know where the best ice cream spots are on the Cape, Tracy is the person to talk to!
Mark Nelson
Board Member
Mark Nelson is a long-time West Barnstable resident and member of the First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable. He is a Senior Hydrogeologist with the Horsley Witten Group in Sandwich, consulting on water and wastewater planning projects on Cape Cod and across the country with a focus on protecting drinking water supplies, coastal waters, and ponds. Along with work, he enjoys his Friday mornings volunteering at the Hands of Hope Food Pantry.
David Weston
Board Member
David and his family are members of St. David’s Episcopal Church in South Yarmouth. He currently works as a trust and estate banker for Plimoth Investment Advisors, a division of BayCoast Bank. David’s career over 35 years has been within the insurance, finance and banking industries in many different capacities. He has served on some boards and within churches he’s attended before St. David’s. David’s formal education is a BA in Economics from Stonehill College and an MBA in Finance from Babson College. He grew up on the Cape, relocated to Connecticut after college, and eventually returned to reside in Yarmouth. David is married to Colleen, who is a Certified Public Accountant. They have three children: two adult boys and a black Lab named Mia.
